Shakespeare’s Best Lines

120 Cryptograms

The Bard, One Letter at a Time. Every puzzle in this book is a line from Shakespeare, set in a simple letter code: the lines everyone knows, from “To be, or not to be” to “All the world’s a stage,” plus love and laughter, courage and mercy, songs of the green world, and twelve of the sonnets. Each line was checked word for word against a standard edition.

The name of the play is in code too, so it can help you along. The first puzzles give you three letters to start; by the last part you’re on your own. Every answer is in the back, with the act, scene and speaker.
